1. Log in to GHL

  • Log into your GoHighLevel Agency Dashboard (if you’re an agency) or into your location account (if you’re managing just one clinic).

2. Go to Settings

  • From the left-hand menu, click ⚙️ Settings.

3. Open API Keys

  • Inside settings, look for “API Keys” (this is sometimes under “Business Profile” or “Company” depending on whether you’re in agency or location view).

  • If you don’t see it: switch to the location level (top-left dropdown → select the clinic location).

4. Create a New API Key

  • Click + Create API Key.

  • Give it a descriptive name, e.g., AI Appointment Agent.

  • Select the scopes/permissions needed:

    • Contacts → so the agent can identify or create patient records.

    • Calendars/Appointments → to book, reschedule, cancel.

    • (Optional) Tasks/Notes → if you want the agent to log call notes.

5. Copy the Key

  • Once generated, copy the API key.
    ⚠️ Important: You won’t be able to see it again later in plain text — store it somewhere safe.
